Progression and Futures
Exceptional academic support
Our students receive exceptional academic support through high-quality teaching from a team of specialist subject leaders, whilst our inclusive culture ensures that all students can make the best progress possible.
Starting with their transition from Year 11 to Year 12, students are encouraged to develop their intellectual, social and emotional independence. Our timetable is designed to support students to use their independence successfully, acquiring time management and organisational skills that empower them to study more effectively and prepare them for their next steps.
“Strong achievement across a range of courses enables Year 13 leavers to go on to an array of exciting destinations.” Ofsted
Careers education and guidance
We are committed to ensuring that each student is equipped with the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about their future and value all of the progression routes our students seek.
Preparations for university, higher education, apprenticeships or training begin in Year 12, with one-to-one conversations with our specialist UCAS staff and KS5 Careers Advisor. This enables our students to follow the path that suits them best, whether that is a high-level apprenticeship, an art foundation, entering employment, or progressing to university.
All Sixth Form students benefit from careers focussed Personal Development lessons and are given the opportunity to gain work experience, supported by our dedicated Work Experience Coordinator.
Whether your aim is to secure your place at a top university or embark on a rewarding apprenticeship, we have the resources and support you need to achieve your goals.
Around 70% of Year 13 students apply and continue their studies at university after finishing Sixth Form. Every student applying to university receives individually tailored support with university applications and admissions. A substantial number of our students secure places at prestigious institutions, including Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.
