Curriculum Intent

The Computing curriculum at Beacon Academy aims to prepare students for their future in an ever changing digital world. Knowledge of Computer Science and Information Technology is of increasing importance for students’ lives at home, for studying all subjects, and for future employment.

The Computing Curriculum will provide opportunities to develop important skills in digital literacy and in the safe use and effective understanding of technology. The three strands of Computing are visited repeatedly to allow students to progress and embed the skills and knowledge required. At the end of their time at the school, students should be effective and creative users of technology.
