Year 12 Emily wins Sports Achiever of the Year Award
Congratulations to Beacon Academy Year 12 student, Emily, on winning the Sports Achiever of the Year Award in the annual Love Where We Live Awards.
Presented by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, the Love Where We Live Awards celebrate the people who make the borough of Tunbridge Wells a great place to live and work. They recognise the individuals, groups, businesses, and organisations who are dedicated to helping others in the community, benefiting the environment, or accomplishing personal goals.
Emily was declared the winner for being a avid footballer and coach for U5 and U6 teams, qualified referee as well as being part of the Kent FA Youth Council. Emily is a passionate footballer, referee, coach and fan. At 16 she exceled in playing for Tunbridge Wells Foresters Ladies and Langton Green U18 girls. She coaches U5 and U6 teams, and referees local youth games. Emily is also a brand ambassador for a local company ‘Pride of England’ who sell lionesses merchandise and sits on the Kent FA Youth council. Her dedication extends to supporting Tunbridge Wells FC. Emily’s contribution to football and community makes her a beacon of inspiration.
Emily recalls the moment she realised she had won the award:
“After the judge had announced that I had won, I had to go onto the stage to collect my award and have my photo taken, then I did a thank you speech. I didn’t expect to win as I was up against two very good finalists but when it was announced, I felt honoured and surprised”.
We are extremely proud of Emily’s achievements and look forward to seeing what’s next to come in Emily’s passion for football.
