Year 7 and Year 8 Cross Country
The Year 7 and 8 Cross Country trials took place at the start of term with over 80 ambitious and enthusiastic students taking on the 2km course with the aim of finishing in the top 4 positions to qualify for the school team.
It was great to see the enthusiam, camaraderie and encouragement between the runners . Those qualifying for the team were as follows…

These students then completed their first competition of the year on Friday 15th November at Sevenoaks School in the Junior Knole Run. Taking place in the lovely surroundings of Knole Park our students were incredible amongst a very competitive field and should be very proud of their achievements.
The top 4 girls and boys times qualified for the overall team position. The results were as follows with the Girls team finishing 7th out of 43 teams and the Boys finishing 5th out of 50, A wonderful achievement for the students!

A particular mention to Jago who finished in 2nd place in the boys race out of 236 runners, only 3 seconds behind the leader, completing the 3.4 km course in 12 minutes and 14 seconds. Our top 4 boys including Jago, Huey, Bertie and Jasper all finished in the top 60.
Our leading girl was Lily in year 7, which is very impressive given many of the students would have been in year 8 finishing 22nd out of 217 runners in the 2.6km race. Our top 4 girls including Lily, Amelie, Mollie and Amelia finishing in the top 80.
