Green Transition Crowborough visit Year 12 Geographers
A big thank you to Mike Coyne from Green Transition Crowborough for delivering an insightful talk for our Year 12 Geographers on the topic of "transition towns" – communities that work together to tackle climate change and environmental challenges.
As part of their A Level course, the students explore sustainability and the transition approach, making this presentation particularly relevant.
Mike highlighted Crowborough’s efforts as a transition town, showcasing community-driven groups and projects such as Crowborough Community Pantry, the Community Orchard, Crowborough Farmers' Market, the Repair Café, Artytime Scrapstore, Energy and Transport and Crowborough Wildlife Group.
It was inspiring to hear how local businesses, schools, and organisations in Crowborough are collaborating to make a positive impact on the environment. By working together, we can raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage actions that benefit both the local community and the planet.
As a school and trust, we are committed to educating our students about environmental concerns and the importance of living sustainably. We encourage everyone to get involved and contribute to creating a greener, more sustainable future.
