Students excel in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge

Huge congratulations to all students that took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge in February!

The UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge is a 60-minute multiple-choice competition designed for excellent mathematicians in Years 9, 10, and 11, encouraging mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in problem-solving. To recognise the highest performers in the Challenge, the UKMT award the top-scoring 50% of participants bronze, silver and gold certificates in the ratio 3:2:1.

This year, Beacon Academy students achieved an incredible 5 Gold, 10 Silver and 15 Bronze!

This is a fantastic result from our pupils in Years 9, 10 and 11. Special congratulations to Owen in Year 10, who achieved the best score in the school and to Henry in Year 11 and Fabiano in Year 9 who have each achieved best in their year groups!

Further to these results, Henry and Owen have been invited to take part the Pink Kangaroo next round.
