Anna Y11 German Course 2025 (3)

Congratulations to Anna, a Year 11 student, who participated in UK German Connection's German Pupil Course last year.

Anna's outstanding involvement in the programme, as well as her post-programme activities, have earned her a well-deserved certificate of recognition.

Since returning from her time in Germany, Anna has been dedicated to sharing her experience with others. She wrote a detailed report about her stay in Germany and took the initiative to visit local primary schools, where she presented her experiences to younger students.

Anna writes:

"On the trip I went to many beautiful places such as Passau, München and Königssee, which were breathtaking. During the week I would have German lessons with the teacher that came with us from England and I learnt so many new things that weren't taught at GCSE. We would also sometimes have lessons with the German students to see what their normal lessons would be like. We also had a traditional Bavarian cooking class which was really fun.

Most of all I enjoyed meeting new people because my host family were really friendly and I got on well with them. It was interesting to learn about our culture differences and I also really liked the food there.

I think that this trip has definitely improved my confidence since I had to go there alone and make friends with all these new people, as well as it has inspired me to carry on with German at A Level."

We would like to extend our thanks to Anna for her proactive role in promoting cultural exchange and to our wonderful MFL teachers, who encouraged Anna to apply for the programme.
