Spring Dance Show 2025 2 (124)

Talented young performers at Beacon Academy joined together for a celebratory evening of dance at the school’s Spring Dance Show on Thursday 27 March 2025.

Students from Years 7 to 11 presented a wonderfully diverse programme of dance works, developed during Dance lessons and extra-curricular sessions, to an enthralled audience of friends, family, staff and community members.

In addition to performing on stage, Beacon Academy students worked behind the scenes and front of house to support the production, including sound and lighting, tickets and interval refreshments. Year 11 students, Lily and Pippa, did a fantastic job as event hosts, introducing each dance.

Head of PE, Mr Cottrell, congratulated everyone that took part in the production, both on stage and behind the scenes, commenting,

“Congratulations to all involved in the Spring Dance Show! It was wonderful to see pupils from all year groups showing such a variety of  confident performances. I was so impressed by the courage and resilience demonstrated when performing and the creativity shown throughout a number of pieces choreographed by our students. Your passion, dedication, talent and hard work were clear to see.

I would like to thank those who came to watch and created such a warm and supportive atmosphere. I would also like to thank the teachers and volunteers who contributed to the success of the event. The show was testament to the vision and stewardship of our talented Dance specialist, Mrs Goldsmith. Well done all on such a memorable and inspiring show!”

Crowborough Town Mayor and Chair of Beacon Local Governing Committee, Cllr Matthew Street, commented:

“It was a real privilege to attend Beacon’s Spring Dance Show. The standard of performance was remarkable. The variety of choreography was brilliant – touching on so many emotional moving themes. It was a memorable evening – well done to everyone involved.”
